Timmy Woods Andrea Handbag

Oh wow. Will you look at this handbag?:

Timmy Woods Andrea

The product description says that it’s a handbag but we can’t even figure out how it’s supposed to be held. Is there a handle somewhere? Are the grooves on the wood meant to be the place where you hold it? How does it even open? So many questions. Maybe the fringe tassel hanging down from the top is the handle and not just a detailing design as the description says.

Wish there were more pictures of this Timmy Woods Andrea handbag because we really are curious to find out the answers to our questions. The dimensions are really small (6″ x 4″ x 2.5″) so it’s probably only a clutch, as we would expect from anything made from a solid hardwood like acacia wood.

We had a look around at the designer’s website and him and Judith Leiber have a lot of things in common. They both make novelty handbags, purses, and clutches. If Judith Leiber likes them sparkly and glittery, Timmy Woods makes them natural and exotic:

If the oddly-shaped wooden Timmy Woods Andrea handbag caught your eye like it did ours, perhaps you’d like to purchase it at Bagsbuy.com for $199.95? Yes, it’s not cheap, but it’s actually one of the lowest priced Timmy Woods handbags out there.

If you do buy it, then please be kind enough let us know exactly how it works as a handbag!

Even though this blog is called FringeHandbags, we know that a fringe lovers’ collection extends beyond bags and purses. After all, no cowgirl at heart is ever without fringe in her outfit, be it a fringe vest, a fringe jacket, or a pair of fringe boots.

However, because fringe is such an strong detail, it’s so easy to go overboard on the stuff. This leads us to the question:

How much fringe is too much?

If you’re fond of fringe like we are, then we’re sure you’ve asked yourself this very question at some point in your life.

We’ve gathered some fringe-loving personalities, analyzed what they’re wearing, and compiled this list of purses to match with fringe outfits. Get some tips from them and their stylists, and find out just how to wear the right amount of fringe for 3 different occasions.

ON A DATE

Fringe fanatic Vanessa Hudgens wore a fringe vest to watch a basketball game with long-term boyfriend Zac Efron. You can’t quite see it in this picture, but the Casting Suede vest is very dramatic, with fringes reaching down to the hips.

If you’re dying to wear your fringe vest but afraid to look over the top, tone it down like Vanessa by pairing it with regular blue jeans, solid black boots, and a nondescript black leather handbag like the London Fog Corrinne LF1516:

FOR A BUSINESS MEETING

Fringe boots for work? Sounds impossible, but here, jewelry designer Gaia Repossi of the prestigious Repossi Jewelers makes it possible. It might take a lot of panache to pull it off, but keep the fringe under control by streamlining everything else. A tote bag like Gaia’s is the perfect work companion, which is big and roomy enough to carry things around in. It’s also the perfect fringe boot complement because its boxy structure neutralizes the flowy fringe.

We like this tote from Clava, a nylon and leather mix with detachable straps:

FOR AN EVENING FORMAL

Not everyone gets to walk on the red carpet like Eva Longoria, but many can wear a fringe dress. The flapper dress has evolved to become a classic since it was first worn in the roaring 20s, and modern day fringe dresses continue to be inspired by it.

Wearing a fringe dress is already a statement, so pair it with a simple similar-colored clutch like the Prezzo 975:
