I don’t really know very much about Olivia Palermo beyond her role on the TV show “The City”, but I really love her style. She always manages to look elegant, classy and put together. She kind of reminds me of Emily Rossum, except I think she has more personality and maybe more fashion sense when it comes to dressing up. That, or she has better stylists. Either way, I still really dig her style.

I’ve been following some of Olivia Palermo’s public appearances recently and one recurring theme she seems to favor now is feathers, especially on her handbags. Here are some of her latest photo ops, showcasing her collection of feather fringe handbags:

Olivia Palermo carries a yellow fringe clutch at the 2010 Tribeca Ball at the New York Academy of Art on April 13, 2010

The feathers are on Olivia Palermo’s dress here, but her yellow clutch is fringed with metal strands – at the 2010 “DKMS’ 4th Annual Linked Against Leukemia Gala”, April 29, 2010

Olivia Palermo walks the red carpet with a purple feather purse at the 2010 Operation Smile annual gala at Cipriani, Wall Street in NYC on May 6, 2010

We’ve got mad love for feathers like Olivia Palermo here on Fringe Handbags too. A favorite that I always feature is this Feather Pattern Clutch from Whiting and Davis:

Whiting and Davis Feather Pattern Clutch, $142.50 (originally $190.00)

Here’s a new one that I found, the Carlo Fellini Tuscany evening clutch:

Carlo Fellini Tuscany in beige, black and purple, $37.49 (was $100.00)

Both of these clutches are available at eBags.com. They’re having a special Father’s Day Sale right now where you get an extra 25% off one item plus free shipping on your order! Sale ends June 7th – that’s this Monday already!

Brooke Shields was classy and beautiful in her Michael Kors Black Chain Detailing Dress at the 55th Annual Drama Desk Awards, but it wasn’t really a WOW moment. But among all the pictures from the event, I still stopped at Brooke Shields’ photo because this pretty little thing she’s holding caught my eye:

May 23, 2010 – Brooke Shields arrives at the 55th Annual Drama Desk Awards held at Lincoln Center in NYC

Close-up of Brooke Shields’ zipper clutch

Brooke Shields is carrying the Pavia Clutch from Rock & Republic in the above photo:

Rock & Republic Pavia Clutch

It’s made of 100% leather and features metal zippers and chrome hardware detail. It’s not the conventional fringe clutch at all, but the zipper pulls do create a sort of metal fringe curtain on the clutch’s front. If you study the close-up picture of the clutch, Brooke Shields made the zipper pulls kind of uneven and I think it looks better like that. This clutch is $275.00 at RockAndRepublic.com.

I found this amazing 30-dollar alternative to Brooke Shields’ almost 300-dollar Rock & Republic clutch at eBags.com:

Amici Accessories Black Zipper Clutch, $30.00

It’s a lot bigger than the Rock & Republic clutch, but the bigger size means more room and more room means it can hold a lot more things. So unlike the Rock & Republic clutch which would most likely be reserved only for special events, the Amici Accessories Black Zipper Clutch can be used for a number of occasions and even daily if you want to.

If money wasn’t an issue, would you use the Rock & Republic Pavia Clutch or the Amici Accessories Black Zipper Clutch?

I’ve seen the Gerard Darel Besace Pom Bag on other celebrities before, but I only took notice of it when I saw it on Taylor Swift. Other celebs have it in plain black, brown or grey, but Taylor Swift, sweet as she is, chose the floral version. It looks like it was made just for her:

Taylor Swift shopping at Anthropologie in New York on May 5, 2010

Taylor Swift spotted shopping at Rugby in NYC on May 15, 2010

I adore Taylor Swift in these looks she paired with her Gerard Darel Floral Besace Pom Bag. I love that she also wore floral dresses with her floral bag. The floral on floral look would be serious overkill on other celebs, but floral prints on country cutie Taylor Swift? The two go together like peanut butter and jelly.

The Gerard Darel Besace Pom Bag retails for a whopping $710.00, not to mention that it’s sold out everywhere. Good thing that there are tons of pretty floral bags available online, and here are five I chose that are just as dainty and as sweet as Taylor Swift’s:

Clockwise from top: Betsey Johnson Glitzy Floral Large Shopper, $160.00 (was $302.00). Lucky Brand Hightime Embroidered Leather Tote, $159.00 (was $198.95). Roxy Petticoat Shoulder Bag, $45.00 (was $50.00). OGIO Tote Handbag, $74.00. Lucky Brand Sand Play Tropical Shadow Canvas Bag, $78.95.
